Mrs. Walker, I have not read your books, but my great grandmother was a Walker down in Rhine. Annie Bell Walker, married to Thomas Elisha Peterson. I hope to read your books. I am very into my family history, are there any "real" characters in the books?

Ms. Walker,
We enjoyed your book, WIDOW OF SIGHING PINES, very much. It is wonderfully written with history and a love story. Both my husband and myself love history and it was wonderful to read of the places we have traveled through over the years. My husband has many ancestors that have been in Dodge County. We have researched some in this area but never knew there was so much history we did not know. Again, thanks for such a great book. We look forward to reading THE DODGE LAND TROUBLES, 1868-1923.

Dear Jane,

I read both of your books Widow of Sighing Pines and The Dodge Land Troubles 1868 - 1923. For pure enjoyment, I think that Widow of Sighing Pines is the very best! The characters are thoroughly believable, and the story is delightful. I admire Katharine, as she strives to live in the south and to cope with a different environment from her northern background. I also admire Micah as he displays high moral standards in his daily living. The story is so entertaining and engrossing that I became a fast page-turner, wanting to quickly read what would happen next. The Dodge Land Troubles 1868 - 1923, an enlightening historical account of the same time period as the events surrounding Katharine and Micah, portrays the sometimes turbulent setting of the novel. It is an accurate record of facts and events which can be utilized by schools, colleges, and many other educational groups.

Jane, you are a gifted writer. I sincerely appreciate your sharing this novel and history book with me, a most grateful reader! I can understand how you won the President's Book Award from the Florida Publishers Association for Widow of Sighing Pines. It is fun to share your books with other family members and with dear friends. The books make wonderful birthday gifts , anniversary gifts, and other special occasion gifts. I'm eagerly anticipating many other writings from you, whether a historical novel or a history book!

Best wishes to you as you write more books!

Thank you.
